My brother died on New Year's Eve after fighting Mesothelioma for just 8 months. We were not patient with the original diagnonsis and fought it with great hope and optimism, researching ourselves when doctors did not. On Nov. 14, he was told that he was "perfect" after a thorough examination by one of the premier doctors in the country. Imagine our joy and then the shock and dismay when he re-entered the hospital on Christmas Eve and passed a week later. If the best doctors in the country can be so wrong, what hope do we ever have of feeling secure with their diagnoses. I've written to every congress person about the idiocy of allowing high pressure to be asserted for funding of research for AIDs and cutting funding for what will kill so many more in a much shorter time period. I'm not patient, either.
