One heck of a day around the world as reported by the Miami Herald this morning. Three sizeable figures in world affairs over the last few years get to see 2006 out in a markedly different fashion. There are winners and losers here. A clear distinction between the had’s, the would have’s and the have’s. Without a doubt there are those most deserving and those not even close to deserving.
At this point in time those best able to speak their mind are far away from home and have small voice. The stretched neck of a really bad guy hardly helps them as they drive poorly armored vehicles through Sadre City and other such locals to counter an insurgency that claims so many in outright war, by assasination, in cold blooded murder and in the intellect defeating act of ethnic cleansing. Mission accomplished indeed! 21st century meets the Conquistadores more like! Civil War as seen and heard through eyes and ears not censored by distance or spin by the three R’s.
Hard to imagine the supine, sunbathing form of UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, escaping his own miserable UK climate on a Miami beach helping further the cause he apparently helped concoct along with some from Washington DC and the President (from Connecticut), just now making like a Texas rancher. What’s wrong with being from Connecticut after all? Oh, and PM Blair, easy on the touch down’s there that cause BA to wipe out airport utilities, we need all our runway lights in MIA. They help us bring people home after all! Soldiers, not just sunbathers.
To all those innocents remaining in Iraq and having little choice but to stay I hope the power brokers of the world find for you, a far better life in 2007 than they did in 2006 and prior. For all those who need to and can return home from Iraq…the welcome awaits. Take a good rest, as when one reads between the lines the real battles might still await.
You would love the novel SWAP by Sam Moffie. A must read for a swinger life you.
